Based in rural East Central Illinois, LifeLinks maintains a 24 hour behavioral health crisis service system serving Coles and Cumberland counties.

When a caller phones the toll free number (1-866-567-2400), they are immediately connected to a trained crisis clinician. There is no cost for this service and it is available 365 days per year, 24 hours per day.

If you live in Coles, Cumberland, Moultrie, Douglas or Shelby counties and are experiencing a mental health crisis or just need to talk to someone about how you are feeling, call our toll free Crisis Line at 1-866-567-2400. 

988 National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline System

LifeLinks is proud to be a partner in the new 988 National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline system.  Fully operational since July 16, 2022, when people from Coles, Cumberland, Moultrie, Douglas, and Shelby counties in East Central Illinois dial 988, they are connected to trained counselors who are ready to listen, provide support, and connect them to local resources including linkage with LifeLinks' 24 hour crisis team. 

If a caller prefers to talk directly with one of LifeLinks’ Crisis Clinicians, they can continue to call our crisis line (1-866-567-2400).   As one crisis line caller said, “I did not know where to turn, but that kind voice on the other side of the phone helped me so much!  I am so grateful we have this crisis line!”   Our message is clear – don’t hesitate or let anything keep you from getting help!  Reach out if you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis!
